Subject: Arson Arrest
On November 13, 2024 at approximately 11:40 PM, Elmira Police Officers were dispatched to a vacant residence in the area of W 1st St and College Ave for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival Officers observed a small amount of smoke coming from the residence. Officers also observed one subject exiting the residence at that time. This subject was detained. A small fire was located inside the residence and was quickly extinguished by the Elmira Fire Department.
As a result of this investigation, David E. Hodder, a 39-year-old male from Elmira was charged with Arson in the 3rd Degree, a Class C Felony.
