Subject: Weapons Arrest
On July 28, 2025 at approximately 7:07 PM, Elmira Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Ave for the report of a large disturbance involving several people fighting. Witnesses were reporting that one of the subjects involved in the disturbance was waiving a handgun around. Officers arrived in the area and quickly identified and arrested the suspect who was in possession of a small black semi-automatic handgun. Officers continued the investigation and made several more arrests. As a result of the investigation, 20 year old Leanne Rivera of Elmira and 41 year old Omayra Martin of Elmira were arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C felony. Additionally, 32 year old Shamecca Johnson of Elmira and 23 year old Ashley Beach of Elmira were charged with Disorderly Conduct.
