Subject: Domestic Assault
On November 13, 2024 at approximately 10:18 PM, Elmira Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on Magee St for a disturbance involving one person reportedly being struck in the head with a hammer. Upon arrival at the scene Officers located the victim who had sustained multiple head wounds. The victim was transported to Robert Packer Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. At that time, the suspect was not on scene but was determined to be related to the victim.
Officers continued to check surrounding areas and less than an hour later the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.
As a result of this investigation, Jacob S. Buckley, a 19-year-old male from Elmira was charged with 1 count of Assault in the 1st Degree, a Class B Felony and 1 count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.
The Elmira Police Department was assisted by the Chemung County Sheriffs Office, New York State Police, Elmira Fire Department and Erway Ambulance.
