Subject: Shooting incidents/ Homicide investigation
On June 9th, 2025 at approximately 8:00 pm Elmira Police officers were dispatched to the area of Pulaski Park on W Center St for a report of gun shots, with reported victims at the scene. Upon arrival officers located two subjects that had been struck by gunfire. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where one of the subjects was pronounced deceased. The other was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 8:15 pm Officers received another call for gunshots in the area of the 900blk of Oak St. When officers arrived, they found one individual that had been stuck by gunfire and learned that two other victims had left the scene in a private vehicle to seek treatment for their injuries. All three individuals were interviewed by police and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing. At this time the Elmira Police Department believes these to be isolated incidents and there is no threat to the general public. At this time the names of the victims will not be released.
