Subject: 700 Block of Riverside Ave Incident
On September 20th 2025 at approximately 6:48pm the Elmira Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Riverside Ave for the report of two gunshot victims. Upon arrival, responding Officers located two victims whom both sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Elmira Police provided lifesaving medical assistance until the Elmira Fire Department and Erway Ambulance arrived on scene and took over care of the patients. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they are receiving medical care for their gunshot wounds. Both victims are in stable condition. The Elmira Police Department is currently investigating this incident. This incident was not a random act and there is no immediate danger to the public. This investigation is ongoing and the Elmira Police are asking for anyone who has knowledge or information related to this incident to call the Elmira Police Department at 607-737-5626.
The Elmira Police Department was assisted by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, West Elmira Police, New York State Police, Elmira Fire Department and Erway Ambulance.
