The Elmira Police Department, in coordination with partnering agencies, will hold a press conference to provide an update on the investigation into the 1964 homicide of Mary Theresa Simpson and to announce the subsequent closure of the case following the identification of the suspect.

During the conference, investigators will discuss significant developments achieved through modern forensic analysis, including DNA testing and investigative genetic genealogy, as well as the investigative steps that led to the resolution of this decades-old case.
