Subject: Gun Shots Investigation
On July 7th, 2024 at approximately 7:30 AM Elmira Police Officers responded to the 300 block of W. Center St. for a report of evidence of gunshots being located by the caller. Officers interviewed several people in the area who advised they heard what they believed to have been fireworks at approximately 2:39 AM on July 7th but upon further investigation was determined to be gunshots. Officers did locate several spent casings in the roadway which were recovered for evidence. No injuries or property damage were reported at this time.
